Workshop focuses on strengthening Souharda cooperative institutions

The Karnataka Rajya Souharda Samyukta Cooperative Ltd., Bengaluru, on Thursday organised a one-day workshop for office-bearers of the Souharda Cooperative Societies from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts to strengthen the functioning of cooperative institutions.
The workshop aimed to equip office-bearers with better knowledge of their legal powers, administrative responsibilities and good governance practices, while providing a platform to discuss measures to improve the efficiency of Souharda cooperative societies.
The federation, in a release, said the Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act confers quasi-judicial powers on Souharda cooperative societies. It added that more than 6,800 Souharda cooperative societies are currently functioning in the State.
