Workday launches Work Intelligence AI offering to help make automation decisions
Workday has launched 'Work Intelligence', an AI-driven tool designed to help companies analyze job tasks and determine which processes can be automated. The company emphasized that the tool provides data for decision-making but does not replace human judgment in personnel matters.
Why it matters
As AI integration in the workplace grows, tools that map task-level data are becoming essential for corporate restructuring and workforce management.
The workforce management solutions provider Workday announced the launch of its Work Intelligence offering, as part of its Workday Rising 2026 event.
Drawing on Workday Skills Cloud, Work Intelligence breaks down jobs into tasks done by people, connects these to skills, and shows users which processes can be done wholly with AI, partially with AI, or without AI.
“Most companies can see headcount, reporting lines, and job titles, but not the tasks that make up each job. Work Intelligence closes that gap from inside Workday, where companies already keep their people, jobs, and skills data,” stated the company.
However, Workday emphasised the importance of keeping people in charge, and highlighted that its tool did not make people-related decisions.
As per the 2026 Workday Global Workforce Report, 76% of heavy AI users expect AI to create new career opportunities.
