Women commission chairperson visits McGann Hospital, Women Police Station in Shivamogga
Karnataka State Commission for Women Chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary conducted an inspection of McGann Hospital and a Women’s Police Station in Shivamogga to assess service delivery. During the visit, she addressed patient grievances regarding hospital staff conduct and administrative delays while reviewing the efficiency of police investigations into crimes against women.

Karnataka State Commission for Women Chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary, on Saturday, visited McGann Hospital and the Women’s Police Station in Shivamogga and interacted with women about the government machinery’s response to their problems.
During her visit to the hospital, she asked women patients and their attendants about the facilities available. Many complained to her about the conduct of the staff, the delay in obtaining lab reports, and being forced to procure medicines from outside, among other issues.
She instructed officers to prevent pregnant women from waiting in queues for hours and asked them to increase the number of registration counters.
