A 52-year-old woman and her two daughters were found dead in a well at Ikkalaki village in Aland taluk of Kalaburagi district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Gourabai Peerappa Talakeri and her daughters, Ambika, 22, and Bhagyashree, 20, residents of Ikkalaki village.
According to a complaint filed by Gourabai’s husband, Peerappa Talakeri, the family had outstanding loans of around ₹2 lakh with a nationalised bank at Madan Hipparagi, besides ₹4 lakh borrowed privately.
The complaint stated that Gourabai had been worried about the family’s financial condition and that both her daughters were suffering from mental health issues.
Gourabai had reportedly left home on Wednesday, saying she was going to the fields to fetch fodder for the cattle. She, along with two daughters, was later found dead in a well located on the agricultural land belonging to Sridevi Patil, according to the complaint.
