Woman raped and tortured in Bihar’s Begusarai; one arrested
A woman working for a self-help group in Begusarai, Bihar, was kidnapped, raped, and tortured by two men who recorded the incident. Police have registered an FIR and arrested one suspect while investigating the crime under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

A woman associated with JEEviKA didi, better known as a Self-Help Group (SHG) in Bihar’s Begusarai, was held captive in a hotel, brutally beaten and raped.
The victim said that the accused also recorded a video of the entire incident, which later went viral on social media on Tuesday (September 28, 2026). Based on the victim’s statement, police lodged an FIR for the incident, which took place on Monday (September 27, 2026), in the Nagar Police Station Area.
According to the police, late in the evening on Tuesday, a woman submitted a written complaint at the Begusarai Nagar Police Station alleging that she was raped at knifepoint, beaten and an obscene video of the act was recorded.
