The police identified the deceased as P.K. Fathima of East Chathaloor, Edavanna. The injured are Muhammad Ali, Hameed and V.P. Abdullah.
The incident occurred when a group of people were on their way to a religious centre for dawn prayers and encountered a sounder of wild boars.
Ms. Fathima and Mr. Ali, who were walking at the front, were the first to be attacked, following which the wild boars charged at the others, the police said.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Ms. Fathima succumbed to her injuries.
