A woman farm worker was killed and 12 others injured when the shared autorickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry at Pangidi village in Raghunadhapalem mandal of Khammam district on Friday afternoon.
The workers from Kamanchikal village in Khammam rural mandal were returning home after working in a cotton field at Pangidi when the accident occurred, sources said.
The deceased was identified as Bharathamma, 55. She died on the spot, while the 12 injured workers were shifted to the Government General Hospital in Khammam. Their condition was stated to be stable. The autorickshaw driver escaped unhurt.
