A 31-year-old woman, M. Mayil, was found dead with her throat slit in her house in Keezha Azhagiyanallur near Kariyapatti on Thursday afternoon.
The police said that her son, studying Class 5, had come home in the afternoon for lunch. Since, the woman failed to respond to his knocks, the neighbours had come to help him.
When they pushed open the door, they were shocked to see the woman lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
The police said that a knife was found in the woman’s hand. The woman was alone at home as her husband, a construction worker, Muniyasamy, had gone to work and children had gone to school.
