A 60-year-old construction worker was killed after the scaffolding of a roof under construction collapsed on her in Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai on Thursday. The deceased was identified as S. Kalpana, 60, a resident of Cheyyar. Initial inquiry revealed that the house owner, Khalis Khan, 58, a vegetable trader, had engaged a 10-member construction team to build a room on the first floor of his house. The police said that on Thursday, when the woman worker went to the building with raw materials, the scaffolding collapsed on her.
