AN elderly woman in China cut a high-rise worker’s safety rope to use it as a clothesline.
Guang Ming Daily reported that the worker, Liu, discovered that his 120m-long safety rope, which is tied from the 30th floor to the second floor of a building in Foshan, Guangdong, had been cut by more than 10m.
The resident, who is in her late 70s, reportedly said she did not know the rope was a safety equipment and had cut it because she needed it to hang clothes.
Liu decided not to report the matter to the police, considering the resident’s age, and instead sought 400 yuan (RM237) in compensation for the damaged rope.
