The Tamil Nadu Cauvery Delta Farmers Protection Association has thanked the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led State government for withdrawing all cases filed during the previous DMK regime against protesting farmers and teachers.
While welcoming the announcement made under rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu State Legislative Assembly Rules by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on September 2, association secretary Sundara Vimalanathan appealed to the Chief Minister to write to the Central Government on behalf of the farmers seeking withdrawal of cases filed against ryots for staging demonstrations on railway station premises.
