The Federation of Farmers Associations of Cauvery Delta Districts has urged the State government to withdraw the restriction that farmers can avail the kuruvai special package for a maximum of two acres only.
Raising the issue at the monthly farmers grievances meet held here on Thursday, Arupathi Kalyanam, General Secretary of the federation, said the government should withdraw the ceiling on the land holding for availing the scheme benefits. Besides, officials were restricting the benefits of the scheme to only one farmer per ration card. This was in violation of the government order, he contended.
