Canadian defensive back Ethan Ball has been placed on the six-game injured list with an Achilles injury that’s expected to be season-ending . The Regina native suffered the injury during last week’s win over the Ottawa Redblacks.
The 24-year-old was a sixth-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft out of the University of Calgary. He has recorded one defensive tackle and 10 special teams tackles over 16 regular-season CFL games.
In a corresponding move, Winnipeg has promoted Canadian linebacker Lane Novak to the active roster. The six-foot-one, 225-pound defender played two regular-season games earlier this year but did not record a statistic.
