Wind Signal No. 1 raised over parts of N. Luzon due to Kiyapo
The Philippine weather bureau has issued a Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 for parts of Northern Luzon as Tropical Depression Kiyapo approaches. The storm is expected to intensify into a tropical storm as it moves toward the Babuyan Islands and Cagayan.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Chenel Dominguez reported during a 5 a.m. weather advisory on Thursday that Wind Signal No. 1 was placed over the following areas:

"We have raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 with a 36-hour lead time before the strong winds brought by Typhoon Kiyapo are felt, to allow everyone time to prepare," Dominguez said.
