The district-level Wildlife Week celebrations organised by the Forest department’s Social Forestry Division concluded at Government College, Malappuram, on Saturday (October 3).
Malappuram municipal chairperson V. Rinisha inaugurated the closing ceremony and distributed prizes to winners of the district-level competitions.
The competitions were held on October 2 and 3 as part of the Wildlife Week, observed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation.
Municipal councillor Sadad Kambra presided over the function. Divisional Forest Officer (Nilambur South) G. Dhanik Lal, Government College NSS programme officer Unnikrishnan, and Malappuram Social Forestry Range Forest Officer P.K. Mujeeb Rahman spoke.
