The wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy was shot late Sunday night at the couple's home in Virginia. ESPN reporter Nate Taylor first wrote Monday morning that Mia Bieniemy, 57, had been hospitalized after an incident in Loudoun County, Virginia. ESPN said sources confirmed that a person was being treated for "serious injuries" but did not initially disclose the individual's identity. Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Leah Pau said one person was shot at a home in the One Loudoun neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Dispatch audio for an address linked to the Bieniemy family detailed the incident. According to dispatchers, a woman matching the age of Mia Bieniemy had been shot in the chest. The victim was conscious at the time but was struggling to breathe. Dispatch audio also states the victim was shot by her son.
