NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court has reduced the interim maintenance payable by a husband to his wife from Rs 30,000 to Rs 25,000 per month, noting that the wife is well qualified and has her own rental and fixed deposit income.The court passed the order on August 11 while partly allowing a petition filed by the husband against the family court's order granting Rs 30,000 per month as interim maintenance to his wife from April 12, 2021.Why did the husband challenge the maintenance amount?According to the court's order, Ashutosh Rai Asthana and Yamita Rai Asthana got married on November 2, 1995, and have two children. Yamita sought maintenance from her husband on April 9, 2021, after differences arose between them.The family court initially awarded her Rs 25,000 as interim maintenance on January 15, 2022.
