Wife gets late husband's job, leaves in-laws; HC orders 25% salary for mother-in-law
The Rajasthan High Court ruled that a widow who secured a government job on compassionate grounds must pay a portion of her salary to her in-laws. The court determined that the job was intended to support the entire family after the death of the primary earner.

The aim of this practise is to ensure that the bereaved family has access to a stable and regular source of income following the government employee's death.However, in one such case, a widow secured a government job under this provision but later allegedly left her late husband's parents on their own, remarried and moved out of the matrimonial home.
