Springboks legends Schalk Burger and Jean de Villiers have backed Vusi Moyo to shine in his Test debut against Wales in Durban.
Moyo was named in Rassie Erasmus’ squad for the Nations Championship matches despite still being eligible for South Africa’s Junior World Rugby Championship title defence.
The playmaker came off the bench for the Boks against the Barbarians before the start of South Africa’s international season but was overlooked for the matches against England and Scotland. However, Erasmus has named him at fly-half for the clash against Wales on Saturday.
He earns his Test debut despite having almost no top-level club rugby experience under his belt. In fact, he only made his debut for the Sharks in the final round of the United Rugby Championship, starting against Zebre.
