Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang and his wife Lori have pledged $75 million to Vanderbilt University's upcoming San Francisco campus, and the money comes with a condition. It is a matching gift, which means Vanderbilt has to raise an equivalent amount from other donors to unlock the full value. The university has until December 31, 2028, to do that, and Chancellor Daniel Diermeier says it is already more than 40 percent of the way there. The gift creates the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang College of Art, Architecture and Design, which will be the flagship college of Vanderbilt San Francisco when the campus opens in 2027. Counting the alumni and anonymous commitments the Huang pledge triggered, total investment in the campus has crossed $100 million.
