Lionel Messi and Argentina had to settle for a second-place finish at the World Cup following Sunday's 1-0 loss to Spain in extra time. But while most of Messi's teammates still have a European offseason, the 39-year-old superstar is in the middle of his season with Inter Miami in MLS.
Just don't expect Messi to make a rushed return to Inter Miami. His participation in the MLS All-Star Game on July 29 will also be impacted.
Messi and Argentina teammate Rodrigo De Paul were both among the selections for the MLS All-Star team that is slated to face the Liga MX All-Stars at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. But according to ESPN , Messi plans to skip the All-Star Game for a second straight year.
