Report from Roy Murphy The Coalition Government, headed by National, “is the most anti-worker government in New Zealand’s history.” That’s the considered conclusion of Fleur Fitzsimons, the Co-Leader of country’s largest union, the Public Service Association, which has more than 95,000 members.
She was taking part in an online forum organised by ActionStation last Tuesday. Six hundred members took part. ActionStation, which is based in Wellington, was launched in 2014 and describes itself as an independent progressive, people-powered, campaigning organisation with about 600,000 members.
Fleur Fitzsimons said: “This government is very much out of step with New Zealand values. It’s even out of step with previous National governments. It’s more extreme than any other National government we’ve seen.
