A stalwart of Labour's frontbench, John Healey served in the Blair-Brown governments, as well in as the shadow cabinets of Ed Miliband and Jeremy Corbyn. He then became Keir Starmer's shadow defence secretary, and then defence secretary after the 2024 general election.
