The World Health Organization (WHO) has extended international travel restrictions on Pakistan for another three months amid concerns over the continued transmission of poliovirus.
The WHO said the ongoing spread of poliovirus in Pakistan and Afghanistan remains a threat to global public health, with both countries posing a risk to each other due to continuous cross-border movement.
The organisation noted that poliovirus continues to spread from Afghanistan into southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Quetta block, while transmission also persists in southern KP and Karachi.
