Whitianga road turns Oceans Festival weekend into a queasy journey home - Jonny Wilkinson

The OG couples have accumulated a lot of history, inside jokes and questionable decisions over the years.
There are some journeys where the destination is the adventure. Then there are journeys where you begin to wonder whether the road itself is trying to kill you.
My wife and I recently headed down to Whitianga for the Oceans Festival with two other couples we’ve known for years. Between the six of us, we have accumulated enough history, inside jokes and questionable decisions to have given ourselves a collective name: the OG Couples.
I’m not entirely sure what the “OG” stands for anymore. Original Gangsters, Original Generation, Original Geezers, take your pick. Whatever it means, we’ve been around each other long enough to know when to laugh, when to worry and, occasionally, when to hide the evidence.
For this particular expedition, the OG Couples had also adopted a dress code.
