White Sox 4, Guardians 3: Heading home up 2

The Chicago White Sox secured a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians, taking a 2-0 lead in the ALDS. Key performances included a strong relief outing by Sean Burke and a narrow escape in the ninth inning.
Why it matters
This result significantly impacts the trajectory of the MLB postseason and the advancement of the White Sox in the playoffs.
The White Sox outlasted Gavin Williams, and then outlasted a barrage of deep Cleveland fly balls.
The evening for the White Sox started and ended on very shaky notes, but they owned the middle of the game, and that turned out to be enough to return to Rate Field with a 2-0 lead in the ALDS.
The White Sox trailed 2-0 after one inning due inaccurate pitching from Anthony Kay and inaccurate throwing from Sean Newcomb, and with Williams coming out firing, the White Sox needed somebody to keep the deficit where it was.
Sean Burke provided the answer, taking over for Newcomb with one out in the third inning and pitching the next 5 ⅓ innings himself, during which the White Sox jabbed Williams for one run in the fourth, and three runs off Williams and the bullpen in the sixth.
