Whereabouts of abducted Rwomushana still unknown

The whereabouts of political commentator Mr Charles Rwomushana and National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporter Mr Ivan Mwijukye—who were abducted by armed men over the weekend—remain unknown.

Mr Rwomushana was taken by armed men in civilian clothes from the Radio Simba studios in Bukoto, Nakawa Division, on Saturday during a political talk show. Meanwhile, Mr Mwijukye, a student and NRM activist, was intercepted and taken from a bus on the Kampala-Masaka Road in Mpigi District on Thursday.

Friends of Mr Rwomushana and Mr Mwijukye told this publication that no security agency has disclosed their whereabouts or the reasons for their seizure.

Mr Dick Nvule, the host of the Radio Simba talk show, said yesterday that they are still searching for Mr Rwomushana.
