The disruption appeared to mainly affect media-sharing features. Users reported that photos and videos were either getting stuck while uploading or failing to send altogether. Some users also faced problems when trying to share stickers and other media files.
According to outage-monitoring platform Downdetector, user reports of WhatsApp problems continued until around 11:26 am on August 10. The number of reports indicated that the issue was affecting a significant number of users during the outage.
