What's the Scam?
A newsletter author reports receiving a flood of generic, AI-generated praise emails from unverified accounts. The author is attempting to identify the underlying motive or 'scam' behind these automated interactions.
Why it matters
This reflects the growing trend of AI-driven spam and the difficulty in distinguishing automated bot behavior from genuine human engagement.
To subscribe to my monthly email newsletter, you have to enter your information on the webpage, and then reply to an automatically generated email. This is, of course, to prevent people from subscribing addresses other than their own.
