Why it matters
This marks a significant expansion for Dyson into the health and beauty sector, applying their engineering-focused design philosophy to personal hygiene.
Open wide: the luxury playbook that transformed skincare and haircare is coming for our mouths.
Dyson, the global brand known for its highly engineered everyday products, like blow dryers, fans and vacuums, is entering oral care with an electric toothbrush, called Dyson CameraJet. It’s the first toothbrush with a camera and a jet, combining brushing with technology designed to identify and clean the gaps between teeth, addressing a part of the routine consumers know matters, but often neglect. It’s the result of six years of research, development, and engineering, challenging every aspect of conventional oral care, says founder James Dyson. The Dyson CameraJet is also Wi-Fi connected at 2.4GHz, enabling users to watch as they brush through the MyDyson app. The toothbrush will retail for $499, and comes in two colors.
