Whangārei cancer clinic stalls awaiting Medsafe approval
A Whangārei-based cancer clinic is unable to open due to a regulatory impasse with Medsafe regarding the approval of a novel medical device called OncoRob. The founders argue that standard clinical trial requirements are inappropriate for their device, while regulators insist on safety protocols.

Plans to start a unique cancer clinic in Whangārei have stalled due to an impasse between the project’s founders and Medsafe over what is needed to progress approval.
Novother Cancer Research was set up by Dr Armand Nosovich, a medical doctor with more than 30 years’ experience specialising in pharmacology and toxicology.
From his facility under his Whangārei Heads house, he independently developed a nano-biological device called OncoRob – a unique bio-robot designed to target and destroy cancer cells .
According to a study published in the Journal of Cancer Research , 15 out of 17 terminally ill cancer patients showed reductions in tumour size and tumour markers. Side effects were minor and lasted less than three hours.
