It is understood that a bus was also involved in the collision.
Northern fire communications told the Herald they were called to the corner of Don Buck Rd and Rush Creek Drive, near Westgate, at 9.18pm.
A spokesman said two vehicles were involved and a person was trapped in one of the cars. He said firefighters worked to get that person out of the vehicle.
