Just two years ago, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork disclosed the Buckeyes spent roughly $20 million through outside NIL deals on their football roster prior to winning the 2024 national championship. Indiana has not publicly disclosed how much it spent on last season’s title-winning squad, but industry sources believe it to be slightly higher than that—though nowhere near the $40 million mark, or even $30 million, thrown out by rivals to explain away the Hoosiers’ improbable success .
