The World Health Organization kept the outbreak classified as a public health emergency of international concern and announced the allocation of 70,000 doses of the Ervebo vaccine, including 20,000 for a Phase 3 clinical trial.
Elsewhere, health authorities declared five type 2 poliovirus outbreaks over across Africa, while the Institut Pasteur launched a chikungunya vaccine project focused on the continent.
