Weekend rainfall affects multiple regions

Consistent rain showers, intense rumbling thunder and lightning dominated weather conditions across many areas this weekend, marking the arrival of early spring rains.
The //Kharas Region was among the most affected, with rainfall recorded across multiple areas. Farm Overwag, between Grünau and Klein Karas, recorded about 40 millimetres (mm) of rain between Sunday and Monday morning, while Swartkop, near Klein Karas, recorded 39 mm over the same period.
Several other areas in the //Kharas Region also received showers between Sunday and Monday morning. These included Soetdoringvlei (9.4 mm), Kweekwal (18 mm), Keetmanshoop (12 mm), Nukois (19 mm), Karub (23 mm), Grünau (22 mm), Fortuin (30 mm), Koës (17 mm), Narubis (37 mm), Hogeis (33 mm), Bessieputs (34 mm), Gocharus (20 mm), Zabubegas (20 mm) and Aroab (24 mm).
