Wednesday’s weather: Severe thunderstorms to hit some parts of SA

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued warnings for severe thunderstorms that may cause damage to infrastructure and vehicles in four provinces. The rest of the country will experience cloudy and cool to warm conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Orange Level 5 : Severe thunderstorms in the Hantam and Karoo Hoogland Districts of the Northern Cape and the Central Karoo District of the Western Cape. Expect potential injuries, danger to life, and damage to infrastructure and vehicles.

Yellow Level 2 : Severe thunderstorms in the Karoo Hoogland District, southern Northern Cape, vast parts of the Western Cape, south-western and western KwaZulu-Natal, and southern Free State. Expect localised damage to vehicles and infrastructure, excessive lightning, and hail.
