PUNE: A purported screenshot of a Snapchat conversation allegedly involving Siya Goyal has gone viral on social media, days after she was sent to judicial custody in connection with the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal.According to multiple reports, the conversation appears to show Goyal asking a friend to share the front and back images of an Aadhaar card, allegedly for wedding ticket bookings. The message reportedly reads, "Adhar card front back bhejde. For wedding tickets jo hone nai wali parr fir bhi bhej de." ("Send me photos of the front and back of your Aadhaar card. It’s for booking wedding tickets for a wedding that was never going to happen, but send it anyway." )The friend is seen replying that the document had already been shared on WhatsApp.The screenshot began circulating online after a Pune court on Friday remanded Goyal, 20, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary, 22, to 14-day judicial custody in the murder case. The two are accused of pushing 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal to his death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Agarwal and Goyal were scheduled to marry in November.Police had sought an extension of the accused's custodial remand, arguing that further interrogation was necessary after recovering chats containing coded language from their mobile phones. However, the court declined the request and remanded both to judicial custody until July 16.During the hearing, assistant public prosecutor Rajashree Virkud told the court that investigators had conducted a panchnama at the location where Goyal allegedly disposed of Agarwal's passport while travelling towards Mumbai."Investigators also carried out a panchnama at the place where Goyal and Chaudhary allegedly rehearsed how to kill Agarwal," she said.Virkud also informed the court that police had recovered another mobile phone belonging to Goyal, which has been sent to the forensic science laboratory (FSL) for examination."Data from the phones seized earlier has already been retrieved, and investigators have received the forensic report. The recovered chats contain coded language, including nicknames and emojis, whose meaning can be explained only by the accused," she said. She argued that custodial interrogation was required to confront the two accused together and verify the context of the recovered digital evidence.Goyal's lawyer, Vipul Dushing, opposed the plea, saying police had already seized the electronic devices and other material required for the investigation, and that his client was cooperating with the probe.Chaudhary's counsel argued that the prosecution had no concrete evidence justifying further police custody and was conducting a "fishing inquiry" based on probabilities. After hearing both sides, Judicial Magistrate First Class A M Vibhute remanded the accused to judicial custody till July 16.Speaking to reporters after the hearing, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill said some key witnesses present at the crime scene had now come forward."We have already questioned several individuals as part of the investigation. A second mobile phone has been recovered. Forensic evidence is being examined... Details regarding how much money Ketan had given to Siya will be disclosed at the appropriate time," Gill said."We have evidence to establish that a murder was committed," he added. The authenticity of the screenshot has not been independently verified.
