The newly elected SIGNIS Africa Vice President has called on Catholic journalists and communicators across the continent to work together, share experiences, and strengthen the Church’s mission of evangelization through the media.

In an interview with ACI Africa on Tuesday, August 4, Virginia Kabugu, who was elected at the start of the August 3-8 SIGNIS World Congress in Rwanda’s capital Kigali, expressed hope that the organization would strengthen collaboration among Catholic communicators and provide opportunities for them to celebrate and promote major Church communication initiatives, including World Communications Day.

“We would like to grow together with the Catholic media professionals in Africa and bring them on board because we are all called to be members of SIGNIS,” Mrs. Kabugu, who chairs the Catholic Media Nairobi Network in Kenya, told ACI Africa.
