Water ministry starts demarcating critical Entebbe wetland
The Ugandan Ministry of Water and Environment is shifting its strategy for clearing wetland encroachers in Entebbe. Instead of abrupt demolitions, authorities are now demarcating boundaries to encourage voluntary relocation and negotiation for affected families.

The ministry of water and environment together with NEMA have revised the approach of relocating wetland encroachers across the country, according to two ministries, abrupt demolition will not solve the recurring illegalities which have even seen some victim’s loose property. The ministry says demarcating wetlands will now create room for victims to negotiate and have voluntary vacations.
