BHIWANDI: A video purportedly showing a rat swimming in a container filled with gulab jamuns at a popular sweet shop in Bhiwandi has triggered outrage among residents and prompted the food and drug administration (FDA) to initiate action against the establishment.The video, which surfaced on social media, showed the rodent moving inside a container containing gulab jamuns, sparking concern over food safety and hygiene at the shop.Following the incident, FDA officials inspected the Harish Gulab Jamun shop and collected samples of gulab jamun and other food items for testing.Officials also prepared a panchnama during the inspection.During the inspection, the FDA team found that the establishment did not have the mandatory Food Business Registration Certificate.Taking note of the violation, the department issued a stop-business notice to the shop, directing it to cease operations.The action came after local residents gathered outside the shop on Wednesday evening, demanding strict action against those responsible…
