Watch: Iran 'completely destroys' Patriot air defences, fuel tanks, radar at US Gulf bases
Iran's IRGC claims to have launched a multi-phase missile and drone attack against US military bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The operation, described as retaliation for US strikes, allegedly destroyed Patriot air defense systems and radar infrastructure.
Why it matters
These claims, if true, represent a significant escalation in regional tensions between Iran and the United States.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Monday claimed it carried out a three-phase missile and drone operation targeting US military bases in Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, saying it destroyed Patriot air defence systems, fuel tanks and a strategic FPS radar system at two Kuwaiti air bases. The operation, dubbed "eye-for-an-eye", was launched in response to recent US military strikes on Iran, according to Iranian state-affiliated media and the IRGC. The claims could not be independently verified.According to Iran's state-affiliated Nour News Agency, the Iranian Army and the IRGC launched "large-scale missile and drone attacks" on what it described as "enemy bases in the region."
