Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to lose his temper during Al Nassr's heavy 4-0 defeat to Al Ain after becoming involved in a bizarre physical clash with Argentine midfielder Matias Palacios.

The incident came late in the AFC Champions League Elite clash, with Ronaldo appearing to wrap up Palacios and bring the 24-year-old to the ground in a wrestling-style takedown.

It was a frustrating night for Ronaldo and Al Nassr, who were completely outplayed by their UAE opponents in their opening match of the competition.

The Saudi side had started the season with five straight wins in all competitions but have now recorded just one victory across their last four games.

Al Ain took control after Houssine Rahimi opened the scoring in the 25th minute, before the forward doubled the advantage in the second half.
