Warriors v Sea Eagles result: Andrew Webster’s side set new season wins record with comeback win over Manly
The Warriors secured a 31-30 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles, setting a new club record for the most wins in a single season. The match was a high-stakes contest that served as critical preparation for the upcoming NRL finals.
Why it matters
Setting a new franchise record provides a significant morale boost for the team heading into the playoffs, highlighting their competitive form.
In many ways, this was the perfect finals preparation for the Warriors.
It was much harder than it was meant to be but a brilliant contest, especially in the second half.
And the Warriors nailed the moments when it mattered, with a 77th-minute Chanel Harris-Tavita field goal the decisive late play in the 31-30 win over a highly impressive Manly side on Saturday evening.
Regardless of the scoreline, the victory - the Warriors’ 18th of the season - sees the Kiwi club set a new record for the most in a single campaign, bettering the 17 achieved by the 2002 grand finalists.
The Warriors had earlier had two tries ruled out in the final stages, while another Harris-Tavita drop attempt was charged down.
