W.B. CM says trying to create employment opportunities for youth; inaugurates LTM’s state-of-the-art IT campus

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurated LTM's new AI-centric IT campus in New Town, Kolkata. The government has also pledged additional land to support the company's expansion and data center development.
Why it matters
This investment signals a push for regional economic growth and technology sector development in West Bengal, aiming to attract skilled professionals back to the state.
Observing that the objective of his government was to create employment opportunities for the State’s large pool of educated youth, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday (August 27, 2026) inaugurated LTM’s ( Larsen & Toubro Group Company) state-of-the-art IT campus, ‘Ananda Niketan’, in New Town.
The Chief Minister also urged skilled and educated professionals from the State working elsewhere in India and abroad to return, assuring them of employment opportunities under the “double-engine government”.
Mr. Adhikari assured LTM, formerly known as LTIMindtree, that the State government would hand over an additional 10 acres of land for setting up a data centre. The company had written to the government seeking the land around two months ago, he said.
