VSU students clean up Mypadu Beach, take pledge to reduce plastic usage

Marking International Coastal Cleanup Day, Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Department of Marine Biology, in association with National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) campus at Chittedu in SPSR Nellore district, organised a special beach-cleaning programme at Mypadu Beach on Saturday as part of ‘Swachh Sagar – Surakshit Sagar 5.0’.

The programme was attended by VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasa Rao as the chief guest. VSU Registrar Prof. K. Suneetha and NIOT Scientist Dr. Deviram Garlapati participated as guests of honour. VSU students and faculty members actively participated in an extensive cleanliness drive at the beach and its surrounding areas.
