VRO caught accepting ₹9,000 as bribe in Bapatla district
A Village Revenue Officer in Bapatla district was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe. The official had demanded money to process land mutation applications for a local resident.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of the Guntur Range on Tuesday caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) while accepting ₹9,000 as a bribe at Martur in Bapatla district.
The accused officer, Tella Chinna Anjaneyulu, 49, VRO of Bollapalli village, was booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
According to the ACB, the officer allegedly demanded ₹10,000 from complainant Dhulipalla Subba Rao, 60, of Tativaripalem village, for processing applications submitted by him and his sister, Venkayamma, seeking mutation of agricultural lands standing in the name of their late father, Ramulu.
The officer was also allegedly demanding the amount to forward the applications to the Martur Tahsildar and facilitate their approval.
