On Day 23 of VP Sara Duterte's impeachment trial (Sept. 8), prosecutor Lorna Kapunan announced the panel's plan to eventually place the Vice President herself on the witness stand, foregoing 15 remaining witnesses for article I on confidential funds.
Kapunan argued Duterte's testimony would be material to all four articles—confidential funds misuse, unexplained wealth, bribery, and grave threats—while reserving the right to call her and possibly an amicus curiae at the end of the presentation.
