A 24-year-old woman, Thanuja, was found dead at her home under the Gajapathinagaram police circle limits of Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Friday (August 21, 2026), the police said. Her family members were not at home at the time.
According to the police, she had recently appeared for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which is required for teacher posts in government and municipal schools, and they are examining whether distress over her marks preceded her death.
Her husband is a private teacher working in Garividi of Vizianagaram district. She had got married just six weeks ago.
