The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) is spearheading the new BRICS BioDesign Programme designed to advance cross-border healthcare innovation and medical technology across the member nations.

The initiative was launched in New Delhi by the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Ajay Kumar Sood, on Friday.

Mr. Sood said the programme brings together global talent to solve critical healthcare challenges. He highlighted that combining scientific expertise and BioDesign accelerates the journey from ideas to implementation across the Global South.

The launch featured the exchange of a Memorandum of Agreement among participating institutions and the unveiling of the official programme website.

AMTZ Managing Director Jitendra Sharma said the initiative builds crucial pathways from science to patients, enabling co-development, investment, and accessible medical technologies across emerging economies.
