Vizag Port launches ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ drive

The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) inaugurated the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ fortnight campaign at its head office in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. Designed around the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” the drive aims to strengthen community action, improve public hygiene, and build sustainable waste practices, according to a release.

The event opened with a mass cleaning drive around the Administrative Office Building.

Officials stated the fortnight initiative aligns with the Centre’s guidelines, concentrating on five key pillars: converting difficult-to-clean spots into target units, engaging youth through Swachh Paathshala , hosting health camps for sanitation workers ( SafaiMitras ), and encouraging public participation.
